Botanical Name

Nymphaea ‘Fire Opal’

History

This ‘Fire Opal’ water lily resembles M. Marliac’s 1908 Odalisque also known as ‘Opalisque’ that was hybridized by Charles Masters during his work with Tricker’s in the 1930s. The staff referred to it as Fire Opal because of the wonderful flower description of pinks and orange and relative identification with ‘Opalisque’, and thus its descriptive name.
